Great Journey Through Europe - U of I EXPLORERS Photolog

Our story...

Magnificent and awe-inspiring are the words that best describe the Great Journey through Europe. What could be more enjoyable than enjoying a walking tour of the 12th century Lucerne, boarding the panoramic gondola for an extensive view of the mountains, forests and lake, followed by an excursion on the world’s steepest cogwheel railway and then enjoying a peaceful cruise on Lake Lucerne. The view of the Matterhorn was breath-taking and a great place for photos. Interlaken gave us the opportunity to view the towering Jungfrau known as the “Top of Europe.” Add in the historic sights of Strasbourg, France, Heidelberg, Germany and the wine country of Rudesheim and you have an extraordinary travel experience. The architecture found in Koblenz and Cologne were treasures of the past. After a day of historical sightseeing, it was relaxing to board the Deluxe M.S. Amadeus Silver II and cruise the lovely and peaceful Rhine River.
